about_milk

Portola Packaging began when George Faulstich invented a plastic snap-on cap to replace the cork on 5-gallon glass water bottles in 1952. Mr. Faulstich started the Cap Snap Seal Company which soon expanded into the dairy market with its invention of the snap-on plastic cap for milk jugs. The company changed its name to Portola Packaging after the Portola Company bought it in 1986.

Portola Packaging has built a reputation for designing and manufacturing quality tamper-evident plastic closures. For over 30 years the company's "core" closures have been sold under the Portola Packaging, Cap Snap and NEPCO names. Portola Packaging has state-of-the-art Product Development and Research and Development groups who, in addition to improving the company's core products, explore new areas where the company's packaging expertise can be applied.

Through new innovations and acquisitions, Portola Packaging has grown to over $200 million in sales and over a dozen locations worldwide. With the acquisition of Tech Industries in 2003, Portola expanded into the cosmetics, fragrance, and toiletries packaging industry.
