Brian Bauerbach Named COO of Portola Packaging, Inc.
SAN JOSE, CA—January 11, 2005 - Portola Packaging,
Inc. announces the appointment of Brian Bauerbach as Chief Operating
Officer, effective January 10, 2005. Brian will be based in Batavia,
Illinois, and will report directly to Jack Watts, Portola Chairman
and CEO. His responsibilities will include Portola’s US and Mexico
closure business including Portola Tech International, as well
as Research and Development, and Corporate Quality.
Brian joins Portola with over 17 years of packaging experience
in a number of positions with Alcoa Corporation. Since 2002 Brian
has been the General Manager of Alcoa’s Flexible Packaging division,
and from 2000 to 2002 he was Vice President of North American
Operations for Alcoa’s Closure Systems International. Prior to
2000 Brian held various management posts in Alcoa’s Rigid Packaging
Division.
Brian holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Ohio University,
Athens, Ohio.
Jim Taylor will assume a new position with Portola as President
- International, and will have direct responsibility for Portola’s
expanding Asian, U.K. and European operations.
