KEVIN KWILINSKI JOINS PORTOLA PACKAGING AS PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

BATAVIA, IL May 11, 2009 – Portola Packaging, Inc .announced that Kevin Kwilinski has been hired as its President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Kwilinski comes to Portola from a 10 year career with Graphic Packaging International, a $4.5 Billion global paperboard packaging company, where he served in numerous professional leadership roles, including most recently as the Senior Vice President- Supply Chain. In addition, to his most recent position with Graphic, he has also served as Director, Shared Services and Director of Sales and Manufacturing in Graphic Packaging’s Global Beverage Unit. Kevin has also held the position of Plant Manager in several of Graphic’s converting operations across multiple operating divisions.

Mr. Kwilinski received a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Greenville College and holds a master’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is also a certified Six Sigma Champion.
